Bharath is the nation of spirituality. Spiritual foundation in mankind can awaken sensitivity tolerance, morality, ethics, honesty, sense of duty and responsibility. These sublime qualities along with harmonious co-existence are essential ingredients of spirituality. Sacrifice (Thyag) and Service (Seva) are the two pillars of social and cultural set of Bharath. Apart from individual sacrifice, well oriented efforts are needed to be intensified all over the country to alleviate miseries, social inequalities and other kind of ostracism among the deprived communities.
Seva is the distinct trait of Hindu culture. Rashtreeya Swayam Sevaksangh (RSS) stands for generating such feeling among the masses through its Swayam Sevaks . Swayam sevaks work for the upliftment of weaker sections of society to alleviate the disparity irrespective of gender, caste, creed, class or other social status. The prime objective of all such efforts are aimed at to build the sense of capability among the weaker sections so as to enable them to be self reliant.
Rashtreeya Seva Bharthi is the apex body of Service oriented organizations inspired and nourished by RSS. It was formed in 1978 in the name of Sevabharthi. Subsequently it was registered as Rashtreeya SevaBharathi in the year 2003. Prime Objective of this organization is to build a stable society and nation by empowering the deprived segment of society living in tribal hamlets and resettlement colonies. Seva activities are implemented through affiliated organizations by way of training, monitoring, data keeping, assessment and evaluation of the impact of such activities. In Kodungallur it was registered on First February 2012 as Sevbharathi Kodungallur Society under literary and scientific registration act of 1955. Several kind of charitable and seva activities are undertaken by Swayam sevaks under it's banner.
Motto of sevabharathi is to serve the nation through its activities in different segments. Under it's patronage an old age home, namely Manava sevakendram meant for age old mothers , Sukrutham Koottukudumbam for protecting boys by providing them with shelter, free education and habitual moulding, still another one, ie. Santhvanam for providing meals to IP segments in taluk hospital kodungallur, and another one is Annadana Yajna Samithi aimed at giving all kind of facilities for devotees who are coming from different part of state to attend Kodungallur Bharani Mahotsavam.
Sevabharathi is running an old age home under the name and style Manava Seva Kendram at Parambikulangara in Methala exclusively for the aged mothers were left uncared and unattended. Now five inmates from different parts of our states are living here. They are providing with shelter food, clothing, medicines and all other necessary amenities on need based way at their total satisfaction. Another unit under the patronage of Sevabharthi is Sukrutham Kottukudumbam, a registered orphanage meant for boys in the age group of 10 to 18 years. All kinds of amenities ie... shelter, food, clothing, education, periodical medical check ups are provided with counselling aimed at to build proper mental constitution in terms of compassion, loyalty to nation, sense of duty, responsibility, service mentality to the needy and ailing people. A best personality cult is also built up in their mindset to become part and parcel of rebuilding of nation.
Poor girls hailing from penurious family are giving financial assistance for their marriage. For the last 9 years Sevabharathi has been arranging free meals to the devotees who are coming from different parts of states to attend the ritualistic process in connection with the Bharani mahotsavam, of Kodungallur Sree Bhagavathi Temple. Break fast, noon meal and also night food are given consecutively for 3 days during the festival. Hundreds of Swayam sevaks are wholly engrossed on round the clock basis to serve this purpose. Lakhs and lakhs of devotees are making use of this facility. Moreover medical service also provided for the ailing devotees. For this end purpose the service of around 20 doctors are made available to undertake free medical consultation and medicines
In education segment Sevabharathi has been providing financial assistants to the poor students for their higher studies.
Sevabharathi has been handling all these seva activities by means of funding from the pulic who are liberally donating for these humane activities.
For the last 17 years continuously without any kind of interruptions, Sevabharthi prior to its registration itself has been serving the meal to IP and bystanders of taluk hospital Kodungallur. For chronic patients who are bedridden are provided with wheelchair, walker, air bed, water bed, cotes as per their individual requirements.
In 2018, and 2019 our Swayam Sevaks evacuated several flood victims from the severe flood-hit areas even disregarding their own lives. While sea erosion was taken place the poor people living in the coastal area of Azhikode and Eriyad have been shifted en-mass from their hamlets and settled in a government school and other safer places. While the sea was set to become calm and regressed, the hamlets full of mud and besmirched with other residuals were cleaned totally with the help of respective house owners.

Vegetable cultivation, rearing of cows, psc coaching for job aspirants, distribution of food materials among poor families in coastal belt and other parts of panchayath are also under way in sukrutham. Camps on personality developments among inmates and also for outsides are being undertaken here. In the name of Sukrutham Gurukulam free tuition classes are provided for students living in the surroundings.

Shelter For Hapless And Helpless.
Five years back an aged mother looked weary came to Sevabharathi office and unravelled her pitiable state of life and clamoured for her assistance for her sustenance of life and shelter. Immediately the matter was transferred among the executive members who converged in the office and decidedly took a decision to take care for protecting her. A humanitarian has come forward and offered his vacant building for her stay at free of cost in Parambikkulangara, Methala. This was the beginning of an orphanage, exclusively meant for the age-old mothers who are ostracized from home. Subsequently, the unit was registered with the orphanage control board as number 2454/2017 under name and style Manava Seva Kendram .
In the meantime, a plot extending 9.5 cents in Methala village was acquired and began the construction work. Now a 4300 sq.ft, two-storied building sufficient to accommodate 30 inmates have been completed and the house warming ceremony was performed on 29th day of Chingam 1196 (14-09-2020). Prior to this, requisite ritualistic procedures such as Vaastu Bali, Ganapathi Havanam, and Bhagavathi Seva were also conducted as per perceived norms. These expensive developments could be done with the generous contribution made by well-wishers and humanitarians from within and outside the state and abroad as well. Now five mothers are living here. During the past five years time, the landowner permitted Sevabharathi to continue this arrangement at the free cost. Sevabharathi ensures the uncompromised quality of care in all respects to the inmates.
PSC coaching classes for job aspirants, motivation classes for youngsters, marriage assistance for girls hailing for poor families, training programs for aged mothers for their livelihood are also finding prominent place in the routine activities of manava sevakendram.

With the advent of the spread of Corona Virus Sevabharathi has come forward to distribute grocery kits and rice for the affected segments. Medicines which were collected during floods have been distributed among primary health centres of Edavilangu, Methala Madavana, and Vellangallur. In observance of clean kerala declared by state government our Swayam Sevaks have cleaned the premises of taluk hospital Kodungallur, primary health centres Kandamkulam in Methala, Edavilangu, and P Vemballur. On June 1st, 2020 Sevabharathi activists have cleaned all streets of Kodungallur town. Mask and Sanitiser have also been distributed among primary health centres in Kodungallur. Health workers and Police personnel have been duly honoured for their meritorious service against the spread of the Corona virus. Our Swayam Sevaks have donated blood as requested by taluk hospital authorities. Awards.
In recognition of it's selfless service, His Highness Godavarma Raja of Kodungallur Kovilakam has conferred a memento to Sevabharathi in 2019. Adv. Chanayil aravindaksha menon memorial award instituted by OKAY yogam was also conferred on Sevabharathi in 2019.
